Message from Marc February

Welcome to our February edition of the RentPath Gives Back (RPGB) monthly newsletter!

Last September, I shared with you the potential for RentPath Gives Back to partner with an amazing organization, Open Doors Atlanta. This innovative program works to lower barriers and increase access to affordable housing by connecting multifamily property owners with carefully-screened tenants. Given our expertise in technology and passion for helping people find homes, we are uniquely positioned to assist Open Doors with web design and database management. Today, I am pleased to share the progress of our collaboration.

Each Wednesday for the past month, a team led by Stuart Hume and including Jeremy Fox, Andre Leite, Alexandra Perrotta, Scott McLeod, Traysa Price, Ryan Bailey, and Archana Shah, have been hard at work designing a web application and a mobile application specifically geared toward helping homeless individuals find a home.

This experience has been very rewarding for our IT team and their efforts have the potential to scale across the country. I can’t think of a better way to leverage our talents to impact homelessness in a meaningful way.

In addition to our IT team dedicating their time, other employees across the country have contributed in their own way. Take a look at all you’ve accomplished this month:

  • Worked with The Atlanta Continuum of Care and its “Point in Time Count” initiative, critical for tracking the success of local efforts to end homelessness in Atlanta and essential for planning future effort.
  • Volunteers hit the streets of downtown Atlanta at 5:00 a.m. to participate in the Street to Home Outreach. As a result, 10 people have moved off the streets and into shared apartments with other program participants.
  • Our field teams are mobilizing to give back as well. In Philadelphia, they spent the day at the Bucks County Emergency Shelter where a third of inhabitants are children and babies. The team participated in its playground rebuild and helped organize thousands of needed diapers.
  • Finally, our biggest event to date involved 63 RentPath employees who participated in the Atlanta Mission 5K, running in the cold to support those who sleep in the cold.

Don't miss reading about -- and seeing photos -- of all the great events mentioned above, as well as an opportunity to donate to the RentPath Gives Back Fundraising Challenge. We’ve already raised more than $25K toward our $150K goal. Many of you have already given and I am grateful. For those of you who are still considering, please remember that no donation is too small.

Please continue your efforts to put muscles, mind and money toward RentPath Gives Back. I am so proud to be your partner in this critical mission.Together, we can make a difference.

Best Personal Regards,

Marc
