The Rentals.com team visited with Open Hand Atlanta in August to prepare hundreds of ready-made healthy meals for those that suffer from health-related issues that prevent them from being able to provide meals for themselves regularly.
More than 25 employees enjoyed lunch and heard from Charles Stern, Director of Basic Needs, United Way of Greater Atlanta, and Jason Willis, VP for Hunger Initiatives of Action Ministries. 16 Corporate Volunteers arrived at The Gateway Center and helped prep/serve meals to more than 300 homeless individuals with whom the agency engages on a daily basis.
In a single day, four teams--focused on solving a specific challenge for four Atlanta-based nonprofits who work to prevent and/or end homelessness--conducted research, consulted with the nonprofit’s representatives, brainstormed ideas, chose their top solution(s) and developed a presentation.
Join us for an off-site trip to Gateway Center on June 10. Can't make it offsite? We will host a lunch, learn and serve project on June 12th to benefit Silence the Growl to combat summer childhood hunger. More details coming soon!
